The Department of Women’s and Gender Studies at the University of Toledo seeks applicants for a chair position at the rank of associate or full professor, beginning July 1, 2003. Salary is competitive. A Ph.D. in Women's/Gender Studies or in a related discipline with a concentration in Women's/Gender Studies is expected. Additional expertise in international/global issues and movements, postcolonial studies, and/or diaspora studies is preferred, and administrative experience is desirable. The successful candidate must also have significant scholarly credentials, a continuing research agenda, evidence of teaching excellence, and leadership skills.
Women's and Gender Studies has had departmental status since 1999 and currently offers an undergraduate major and minor, as well as a graduate concentration, and is proposing an M.A. program. The department is comprised of tenured and tenure-track professors, visiting assistant professors, part-time instructors, and affiliated faculty from various disciplines and colleges.
