While MITH is actively engaged in working with faculty and students both on campus and in the local community, the institute is not able to facilitate every person’s computer training needs. Fortunately, various campus departments offer a wide array of services that may meet individual needs. Compiled below is a list of campus computing training services available to faculty, staff, and students. Please contact individual departments for more information regarding their services.

Academic and Computing Services provides a wide variety of resources, ranging from workshops on HTML, multimedia on the Web, Web design, and Photoshop to information concerning hardware and software funding and support. |
| University of Maryland Peer Training Program |
The Office of Information Technology (OIT) Technology Enhanced Learning group sponsors non-credit classes for new and experienced computer and network users. Instructors are computer-experienced students trained and employed by OIT. |
| Institute for Instructional Technology |
The Institute for Instructional Technology, co-sponsored by the Office of Information Technology (OIT) and the Center for Teaching Excellence, provides skills training and peer mentoring to faculty wishing to explore the ways in which technology can be integrated into their course curricula. |
| Web Design and Developer Program |
The Office of Information Technology’s Web Design and Developer Program offers several days of computer training in HTML, Photoshop, File Transfer Protocol, Scanning, and other web-based technical components. |
| OIT Short Courses |
The Office of Information Technology offers a series of non-credit computer training classes to the College Park administrative, instructional, and research communities. |
Labs on Campus
| Electronic Media Center |
A facility for the members of the College of Arts and Humanities who need access to computer graphics and multimedia development software, hardware and assistance. |

Other Resources
| English New Media Classroom |
Used for a variety of classes, including freshman writing, professional writing, literature, and grammar. Teaching activities include drafting and editing, group conferencing and workshops, text analysis, document design, graphics, library and internet research, and testing. |
| Visual Resources Center |
The VRC maintains a growing collection of slides, digitized images, and archaeological artifacts used by faculty and graduate students in teaching and in professional presentations. |
